Tempered Glass Definition
Tempered glass is a heat-treated safety glass that is approximately 4–5 times stronger than regular annealed glass. It breaks into small, blunt fragments to reduce injury risk.
Key Features
High mechanical strength
Thermal shock resistance
Safe breakage pattern
Heat resistance up to 250°C
Applications
Building facades and curtain walls
Glass doors and partitions
Shower rooms and bathroom enclosures
Balustrades, railings, and staircases
Furniture and appliances (e.g. tabletops, oven doors)
Subtypes
Flat tempered glass
Curved tempered glass
Printed tempered glass (with decorative patterns)
Silk screen tempered glass (with solid or dotted ceramic prints)
Insulated tempered glass (for energy efficiency)
